Truths  ❘  Beliefs  ❘   Dynamics

The word Scientology means the 'study of knowledge or truth' and addresses the rehabilitation and salvation of the human spirit.

Scientology was developed by an American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, born on 13th March, 1911, in Tilden, Nebraska. He was not only a writer, but also one of the leading lights of the Golden Age of science fiction.

He travelled a lot since his age of twenty and it was during his travels in Asia where he viewed so much misery and want that he asked himself 'Why all this?' and 'To what depths can man fall,' and 'What is man anyway?'

He found that there was not much known about the true nature of man. He became fascinated with this line of research which he made his life's work.

Scientology, developed by him, is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one's true spiritual nature and one's relationship to self.

Also family, mankind, the material universe all life forms, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being. It is body of beliefs and related practises.

Scientology is a religion in its highest meaning, as it helps bring man to total freedom and truth. It addresses the spirit and believes that Man is far more than a product of his environment or his genes.

It also contains techniques to tackle the most serious social problems of our age - illiteracy, drugs, crime and immorality.

The Belief

The word 'Scientology' means 'the study of knowledge or truth'. The Scientology religion teaches that man is basically good, not evil.

It further teaches that the experiences cause people to commit evil deeds, although it is not their basic nature to do so. People only think of their personal interests and ignore how their acts affect others.

It creates interpersonal strife and problems. Scientology believes in increasing the ability and intelligence of the individual so one can improve his own life and later start to reach out to help his family, friends and the society.

Church - Arch City Religion

According to Scientology, the individual is not a body but a spirit and the phenomenon of the spirit is exteriorization, which is the ability of the spirit to leave the body and exist independent of the flesh.

This is the concept that one can see without the body's eyes, hear without the body's ears and feel without the body's touch. The man previously had a little knowledge about the detachment from his mind and body.

However, by the act of exteriorization, which is attainable in Scientology, the individual can gain the certainty that he is himself, an immortal spiritual being and not a body.

8 Dynamics of Existence

A 'Dynamic' is an urge, drive or impulse towards survival. With an understanding of these dynamics a person gains insight and can bring all aspects of his life into alignment.

These dynamic urges are best viewed as a series of concentric circles moving out from the first to the eighth. The First Dynamic is the urge to survive as oneself.

The Second is the urge to survive through family and sex and the rearing of children. The Third is the urge to survive in groups small and large - a company, a group of friends, a city, a nation.

The Fourth is the urge to survive as mankind. Scientology teaches that by simply delineating these dynamics, it clarifies and brings order into existence.

The Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth are the urges to survive through other life forms such as animals and plants, the physical universe, the spiritual universe and Infinity or Supreme Being respectively.
