14 Effective Home Remedies on Low Blood Pressure
Low blood pressure, also known as hypotension, is a condition, when it causes symptoms like fainting, dizziness, fatigue, blurred vision, palpitations, nausea, difficult breathing, and cold. It is the condition, when readings consistently remain around 90/60 mm Hg or lower.
Lower blood pressure ie below the normal - 120/80 mm Hg, is experienced in those with an ideal weight, physically fit and active. Still it is not unhealthy, especially when the symptoms are not experienced.
When the blood pressure is extremely low, it may cause inadequate flow of blood to the brain, kidneys and heart. During the low blood pressure, it is usually adviced to increase your salt and fluid consumtion.

Types of low blood pressure
Hypotension is divided into different categories as given below.
This occurs when when you stand up from a sitting position after a long time or if you stand up after lying down position.
Postural hypotension is especially common in age more than 65. It can also occur in healthy youngsters, who stand up suddenly after sitting crossed legs for a longer time.
Postprandial hypotension is caused due to sudden drop in blood pressure after eating. It occurs mostly in senior adults.
Postprandial hypotension is more likely to affect people with Parkinson's disease.
Neurally mediated hypotension
This occurs after standing up for longer periods, which causes symptoms like dizziness, nausea and fainting.
This is generally observed in young people, which occurs due to a miscommunication between the heart and the brain.
When one stands for a longer time, the blood pressure falls as blood pools in the legs. Normally, the body then makes adjustments to normalize your blood pressure.

1 * Salt
Salt water, which contain sodium, increases the blood pressure. Hence it helps in controlling the blood pressure. However excess salt can prove to be unhealthy.
Use: Prepare a mixture of 1/2 tsp of salt in a glass of water and drink it.
2 * Coffee
If you consume caffenated beverages like strong coffee, hot chocolate, cola etc. the blood pressure increases temporarily.
Use: Have a cup of coffee in the mornings if the low blood pressure problem is frequent. Excessive consumtion of coffee is not healthy.
3 * Raisins
Raisins is best for treating hypotension naturally.
Use: Take a cup of water and soak about 30 raisins in it for full night.
Consume the water in the morning on an empty stomach and also eat the raisins one at a time. Continue this for a month.
4 * Almonds
Use: Take 4 - 5 almonds, 12 black currants, and 15 peanuts and consume with a glass of milk.
5 * Basil
Basil, beaing rich in vitamin C, magnesium and potassium, is beneficial for controlling the low blood pressure problem.
Use: Chew about 5 basil leaves daily in the morning. Also, prepare a juice of about 12 basil leaves and add one tsp of honey. Consume this juice on an empty stomach every day.
6 * Licorice
Licorice root is effective in curing chronic fatigue syndrome and gives relief from low blood pressure problem.
Use: Take 1 tsp of Licorice powder and steep it in a cup of boiling water for about five minutes. Have this tea every day for a week.
7 * Beetroot
Raw beetroot juice is very effective for curing hypotension.
Use: Prepare a juice of beetroot and consume it 2 times every day for a week.
Rosemary improves blood circulation and stimulates the central nervous system, hence very good for treating hypotension.
Use: Consume 10 ml of rosemary mixed with water everyday.
Carrot juice is very beneficial to treat low blood pressure.
Use: Prepare 1 glass of carrot juice and mix 2 tbsps of honey to it.
Consume this 2 times morning and evening.
Lemon juice stimulates the liver function and activates the digestion.
Use: Lemon juice can be consumed mixed with a little salt and sugar.
Use: Prepare a mixture of sugarcane juice with 1 tsp of lemon juice by adding salt to it and consume it in the morning.
12* Raisin, Munaka
It increases vitality and blood and helps in better circulation.
Use: Take some Munaka and soak in water overnight. Boil it with milk and consume it.
13* Epsom salt
Epsom Salt mainly contain magnesium and sulphates, hence it is very effective in normalizing hypotension. Magnesium eases stress, prevents hardening of arteries and formation of blood clots. Sulfates helps in flushing out harmful toxins from the body and absorbs vital nutrients.
Use: Dissolve about 1 kg of Epsom salt in warm of bathing tub. Sit in this water for about half an hour, before going to sleep. This normalises the hypotenion.
14* Indian spikenard
Indian spikenard has essential alkaloids and oils with stimulant properties, which is an effective remedy for hypotension.
Use: Prepare a mixture of about 30 grains of spikenard with a pinch of camphor and cinnamon. Steep this in boiling water for some time. Strain the liquid and consume it at least 3 times every day.
